Better public libraries

By Maia Poon, OPIRG McMaster

As students, it can be really helpful to find a place to work and study away from home and campus. For many of us, that place is the Hamilton Public Library (HPL).Whether the local and convenient Westdale branch or the brightly lit and plant-filled Central branch just a short bus rideaway, the HPL is a great place to both focus and find resources. The HPL Board is developing a Strategic Plan for 2023-25. Even if you have not had the opportunity to visit yet, they would appreciate your input on how they can best support your wants and needs.Plus, enter for a chance to win one of 10 iPads!https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/biblio_csThe less than 15-minute Community Survey is available here in English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, and Punjabi from October 17 - November 13, 2022. Printed survey copies are available at any HPL branch or Bookmobile. If you require a larger font-sized version, please request one from library Staff at the branch.P.S. Did you know the HPL Makerspace has 3D printers, sound studios for recording music, and poster-sized printers? You can also digitize film!
