There are many ways students and community members can participate with OPIRG McMaster. Our general operation is supported by student volunteers and we coordinate volunteer positions with students in mind, so there are opportunities that fit neatly into busy schedules. Volunteers can work on a wide range of tasks, from creating content for our blog to helping staff at the Resource Centre. There are many opportunities for students to build skills (and your resume) with us.
Apart from being a general volunteer, you can join or start an Action Group, start a Project or apply for our Board of Directors. Please email board@opirgmcmaster.org if you are interested.

Full-time McMaster undergraduates are automatically members since they pay a refundable levy from their student fees. Students can opt out of the fee during the three weeks after drop and add (usually the last day is around September 30th).
Anyone who is not a full-time student at McMaster can join OPIRG as a Community Member for an annual fee on a sliding scale starting at $10. Please email board@opirgmcmaster.org if you are interested.
-
Members can sign material out from our resource library, access Experiential Learning Opportunities, start Action Groups, attend free skill development workshops, attend and participate in decisions at board meetings, vote at our Annual General Meeting, run for the OPIRG McMaster Board of Directors, and support OPIRG's ongoing work building a more just and livable future
-
Full-time McMaster undergraduates who do not wish to support OPIRG McMaster can receive a full refund by filling out an online form on the OPIRG website for three weeks after the September Drop and Add period ends.

Students can apply to start an Action Group with OPIRG. We have supported 30 years of critical student-identified campaigns that make a difference. You can always join an existing project team (see the βVolunteerβ button above) or apply for special project funding.
If you are organizing an event and want OPIRGβs help, our Board of Directors can review applications and determine the level of support that can be provided. Please direct inquiries to board@opirgmcmaster.org.
