car free scenes - day 1 and 2

Car Free Week in Hamilton is underway and building momentum - Monday: a bike and hike to Webster's Falls in Dundas takes in the view from behind the falls.

Tuesday: Women's Basic Bike repair drew a crowd at OPIRG's Recycle Cycles, the volunteer run bike repair shop in the basement of Erskine Presbyterian Church (19 Pearl Street North).

A big day Wednesday as two car free events unfold starting with the Historical Harbour bike tour with Brian Henley at 5 pm (Wentworth House) and a Car Free Drive-In movie (sans automobiles) at the historic Gage Park Bandshell (Gage and Cumberland) - Mac students can catch a Delaware bus from campus. Movies start at dusk, with a musical trio performing prior to the movies. All events are free.

McMaster Silhouette and Hamilton's VIEW Magazine should be running stories on Car Free Day (Thursday) - watch for it (and wonder, will the city's mainstream media ignore us?)
