Contest! Measure your Ecological Footprint

Hey McMaster students! Are you ever curious about the size of your own ecological footprint on the Earth? You can take a survey to find out on http://myfootprint.org/en/ and be entered in a prize draw by following these steps:

  1. First, do the survey (takes 10 minutes).

  2. Next, using your McMaster email address, email us at trashtalk@opirgmcmaster.org with a screenshot of your result and the subject line as “Ecological Footprint Calculator Contest.” If you don't feel comfortable sharing your result, just send a screenshot of the title and subtitle on the results page to show you've completed it.

  3. In your email, include 3 steps that you can take to reduce your ecological footprint.

  4. Lastly, wait for your chance to win reusable produce bags, shampoo bars, or other waste-free items! The contest ends on March 27.

The calculator measures your ecological footprint by taking into account your transportation means, sustainable facilities at home, and shopping habits, among other lifestyle factors.
