Student votes can make a difference in the October municipal election
Canadian cities are preparing for the municipal elections scheduled for October 2022 and this is bringing back the old question: how do we get people to vote?
We at OPIRG McMaster are here to answer these questions by talking with CITYLAB students investigating voting accessibility factors as well as interviewing Connor Flood, the city of Hamilton’s election coordinator. He explains why people and, specifically, students should vote, how the city is working to make voting accessible to all, and as a bonus, he talks about how citizens can get more involved in municipal government matters that affect us all.
