The OPIRG Board of Directors is looking to make changes to the space in our Resource Centre, located in the McMaster University Student Centre room 229.
Our board member Katerina has the portfolio for the Resource Centre and has been working hard to bring the vision of the centre as a creative and interactive hub for students working on public interest projects to life. With previous feedback from our volunteers, we are intending to move forward with upgrades this fall.
In the interest of transparency and to gather further input, Katerina has made her presentation available prior to bringing it to the board. This is a chance for you to review what is being suggested, and contribute your thoughts. Leave comments on this blog, or you can always contact Katerina at simantik@mcmaster.ca with any questions or concerns.
Changes to MUSC 229 Resource Centre
Are we on the right track to make MUSC 229 more useful for our student volunteers? Let us know!
A very exciting proposal! Definitely sounds like it will make the Resource Centre space more dynamic and a more effective tool in engaging students. I’m looking forward to seeing how the work unfolds!
Thanks Scott, we are looking forward to it too, and will be looking for volunteers to help!
I love the idea of the collaborative space! Working groups need a safe space they can come together in and this plan is creating that space for them. Excited to see the final result!
It’s been a long time coming, hopefully some forward momentum soon!

I LOVE the plan you presented in your presentation, especially the part outlining the removal of the wooden cabinet units. I completely agree with the direction you’re headed in terms of fostering a more interactive and social community. At what stage is this plan at currently/ the timeline going forward? As well, how can I help?
